Hello all,

Here I am again, letting more than a month go by in-between updates.  Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your perspective, it will probably continue to be this way as I have finally started training and have additional demands on my time.

I started class in late January.  Said goodbye and thank you to my old boss and co-workers and headed over to no less than 50 yards from where i had been spending my days and finally began training.  My class is composed of 19 students.  It's an unusual class for this training... it's composition is unique.  We have two LtCol's in the class who are guardsman F-16 pilots and commander/vice commander respectively of a guard unit that is being turned into a DCGS (essentially, intel) squadron from a fighter squadron, so they are being sent through intel school.  We have three other captains, 1 of which is also a guardsman.  A few 1st Lt's and a few folks who are AF engineers going through intel school.  It's a long story, but they essentially go through and serve 1 intel tour as career broadening before they return to their engineering/acquisitions job.  We also have 2 DoD civilians going though the class who work somewhere on the east coast.  the remainder of folks are much like me...

Anyway, so class is finally underway.  I've done well in my instruction so far and im trying to keep it up to give Erica and me as much say as possible in where we go next.  We will have a list of potential next assignments in a month or so and will know where we're going for sure a month or so after that.  The last class saw assignments in italy, germany, korea, nevada, hawaii, idaho, texas, california, virginia, maryland, new mexico, one of the carolina's... my point being that we could go any of a number of places.  I'll post more on that as we find out more.  It will be nice to have that information, though we'll still be in Texas until late august or so.

Erica is still working at Best Buy but has started volunteering with a company called Mosaic.  There's a specific program she works with but I don't remember it's name...  but its a program that gives children with disabilities therapy through horseback riding.  Erica spends time with the little ones and the horses every week, weather providing.  That has been a lot of fun for her so far.  She's also still working on her Masters Degree and got an A in her latest class.  She's really aching to get a pet, but we're trying to wait until we get to where we're going next.

We're going down to San Antonio the first week of March to see Rod's show, which is coming to San Antonio.  That should be fun and nice to see family.  We also got about 3-5 inches of snow here yesterday, though its mostly gone today.  Who knew that Texas was so cold!  its about 30 in the mornings and gets up to the mid 40's in the afternoon.  Anyway, that's about all for now.

We're still here and we're still having fun.
